I CAN NOT WAIT!!!!
How is impatience a problem in America? How do you imagine this problem can be fixed?Americans are impatient. People get trampled for new video game systems even though everyone is going to get one. People fly through yellow lights hoping they don't see the color red. People literally act on impulse and get rid of the idea of a risk assessment. Genocide literally might be the only way to solve this issue, there is just too many people. The real problem is people are impatient and that has built people to be lazy, they want a easy solution and they want it now. So now we have America has becoming lazy and impatient so now nothing gets done, but alteast nothing gets done right now. We keep shooting out technology and everything else to make everything easier for us. We have been doing it sense caveman days and its not going to change, but have we went to far? Have we went to far when people don't have to wipe their own butts? http://www.gearlog.com/2008/01/the_ultimate_toilet_for_troubl.php
What are we coming to.... do people honestly use this for the purpose that they are to lazy to wipe their own butt? I don't feel there is a easily solution, Look were we are at? we cant even wipe our own ass and you expect me to come up with a solution to end this problem. Sorry, we have gone to far, once we lost the ability to wipe our own butt i feel like the end is near. eventually we wont feed ourselves, we wont bathe ourselves, hell everything will be planned and done for you before you start your day. With all these people on this planet, accomplishing nothing. I feel there is no way to save us from ourselves.
I am Austin Smith, I am a American, and I wipe my own butt
thank you

How does reality television relate to and affect people who watch it? What makes reality television shows so popular? What is the largest archetype that you see being used in reality television shows?
Somedays I'm to tired to argue what show me and my girlfriend watch. When i do loose I get this....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OXCet3ekQ0E
She could literally LIVE of New Jersey Housewives, I'm serious... she doesnt need food or water, maybe its a jersey thing I dont know. All I know is this is sopost to be Reality Television, but all I see is the farthest thing from reality. No body really does that, do they? This women is a actor to me, and i feel that all reality shows have taken a sharp turn to get this. Its all about ratings and teenage girls eat this drama up. I mean look how hypnotized my girlfriend is she loves this "Gabage." People take this as real and think these people really act like this or would be like this not infront of a camera? One of the girls in the video says "i've neva seen her do anything like this" well da!!! she isnt like this unless she is infront of a camera.
So what do we have now? We have hypnotized teenage girls thinking this is reality, placing themselves into a negitive archeotype. These girls are going to idolize this Teresa girl and start flipping over ever dinner table everytime thier dad says "You have to be home by 9 tonight sweety". Though this last sentence might be a little over exaggerated, people need to understand that this is far away from reality.
I feel like some reality television shows try to a do a non drama format like "Undercover Boss", but the majority of reality tv shows are all about drama.

Select a popular culture artifact (company, celebrity, brand, sports team, etc.) that you can discuss in terms of "religification." How has this artifact been "religified"? How do people discuss this in reglious terms? What people follow this particular "religion"? Who are the people who directly oppose this popular culture "religion"?
I think something that has been religifed is the NFL. The NFL makes millions of dollars off the sport team franchise, selling everything from caps to beer holders. You are almost defined by what football team you like, in modern day society. "ohh typical bears fan." The NFL has a team on the roster buildt for taking down and dominating anyone that tries to make money off anything they own. You cant even buy aftermarket sewing patterns of NFL teams without getting it directly from the NFL. I feel like the NFL has made its way into almost every household between 7-9pm on monday nights, kinda like going to church sunday at 11AM

Make a connection between popular music today and one of the other themes we've talked about this semester, such as women & sexiness or men/masulinity & violence. Can you find examples of popular music either support the standard message of those themes or working against them? How important do you think popular music has been in spreading these ideas?
I would like to attempt to touch on "degradding women in Hip Hop music." I watched 10 music videos in a row, all from MTV hits, and i came to find that my relatity on this opinon is still the same. Sorry to say it ladies, but some of you are just sluts. It may not be you, but in the harsh reality its the truth. I have been to pleanty of concerts to see girls become groupies and it happends every night while us average people sleep. These artist tour around the world, show day in and day out, and if I didnt see it with my very own eyes I wouldnt believed it. Here in Cedar Rapids, Iowa at hawkeyedowns I have seen more naked breast in the same room , let alone one song, then most men see in a lifetime. Women go crazy for these rappers, they arent just there to act like a sluts, these girls in these videos are sluts. I am way beyond the point that any of these girls in these videos or at concerts are anything close to innocent. So when a person deals with these type of women on a day to day basis, and writes about his life, your going to hear songs that are degradding twords women. The women these artist deal with degrade themself. Personally I feel if your offendid by it, your a idiot, these girls are always going to be easy to these artist. I mean if you have a problem with it dont hate on the artist, hate the inspiration.

Post #7: Assigned Oct. 28, 2010 Look at readings for hip-hop AND country. Where do you see similarities and/or connections between these two music genres? What do they have in common? Where are they fundamentally different?
Before i started this i had to do some research on both country and hip hop to see were the genre of music came from.
- country music began in the 1920s in small town Tennessee. The 1920s was a hard time for Americans, Prohibition had begun and the great depression loomed among both the common folk and the rich. When people began to lose everything they had, and could not legally attain alcohol to drink away their sorrow, Honky-tonk country music was born.
and...
-Rap has been on the entertainment circuit long before the advent of Mystical and Nelly. In the past, African Americans would use words to tell stories and would take turns adding verbs and sounds to make them more vibrant. Much like today's rap world, music was an outlet, a way to forget the hardships being placed upon the slaves and express themselves. In the 1970's Clive "Hercules" Campbell began to mix music and experiment with throwing rhymes into the mix. This sparked an "intercultural phenomena", as this new form of music appealed to everyone (History of Rap and Hip hop) .
I think they arent much different at all. Country talks about all the same messages hip hop songs do, for every sappy saad country song i could find one hip hop song with the same message. Now my country library is very small but i know there has to be violent country out there. Both forms of music were a form of escape during thier times. Both involve illegal narcotics use in the begining, Hillbtillies with thier moonshine and Rastafarians with thier Ganja. Both can do positive things towords society. Both have thier sellouts, thier pioneers, their ruff times and their radio spots. The big difference I see between country and hip hop is usually the fans. When you go to hip hop concerts and you see a little girl about to get trampled you see everyone helping her get the hell outa thier before she gets hurt, but country concerts are air packaged tight with teenage girls, probably somthing you wouldnt find at a hip hop concert.

Post #6: Assigned October 21, 2010 Technologic......
Today we discussed how popular culture media might be making us smarter, stupider, nicer, meaner, healthier, unhealthier, gentler, and more aggressive. In your blog post, address which of these changes to human behavior you believe to be the strongest in modern society as a result of popular culture media. Make sure you explain your answer and include examples.
Technology is really the pioneer for human advancments. It has mades its way into everyones pockets, and is constantly feeding information. This has not only helped popular culture but it has created it. Allowing a constant flow of information at the price of a finger tap. This has pushed society to be impatient and more complex. These tools we have made help us everyday but have led to society to think everything should be right infront of them. If we cant constantly be doing multiple things, we dont do anything at all. People have taken technology and made it so apart of thier lives that, it has been became just a distraction. Most people dont use technology for a meanigful purpose, usually to let the world know how they are feeling or to look at the newest youtube video. As more and more people reach out into this networking, thats more and more people wasting thier time. Not everyone is using technology to waste thier time, but i feel like a majority of society is.
